SOLA

An art exhibition celebrating the raw, unapologetic female beauty and energy — through the lens of photographers and models who dare to break the boundaries society has placed through history on the female body and role. SOLA is the definition of women empowerment, a declaration of strength and natural beauty; a tribute to women reclaiming their narrative.

A word from the founder
Mathilde Dottir — Founder of Crude

My name is Mathilde Dottir and I'm an international travel model specialised in fine-art artistic modeling and photography, with more than 6 years of experience. I have founded the agency CRUDE to showcase fine-art photography by representing worldwide photographers and models' artistic work. I'm originally from Denmark & Iceland, and currently based in Valencia, Spain.

Since my divorce in April — that was heavily based on non-acceptance of my art — it made me think of how the world is perceiving fine-art photography, the misunderstanding and the misconception of the intention behind this style. How I, during my marriage, was judged and not respected for my work. It made me realise that we as women are highly being sexualised by society in general, which to me is completely wrong and breaks my heart, because I know it's completely not the truth and how it should be. We need a change, as it has major consequences and leads to women feeling worthlessness, lack of self-confidence and self-love, and in general a toxic dynamic between men and women. To me, it's all about women-empowerment, natural beauty, feminine energy mixed with artistic vision. I want to make that more understood in this world, by making an exhibition during Paris Photo Weekend Nov 10–18th 2026. The exhibition will take place in a beautiful gallery located in the Marais district, in the 4th Arrondissement.

The exhibition is called SOLA, which to me is a powerful word that carries deep meaning of female strength and natural beauty. When a woman is able to show vulnerability through art, it's a symbol of freedom to be who she is, stand tall in her own power and her ability to express femininity in the most pure, honest and raw way!

SOLA is a celebration of womanhood and female beauty. It speaks to every woman on this earth and has the purpose of reuniting the world with art, that many are unaware of and the meaning behind. So this exhibition is hopefully gonna lead to more clarity, acceptance and understanding of fine-art photography and the beautiful meaning it carries. The exhibition will consist of around 100 photo prints in high quality, and also fine-art books by the artists included in the exhibition. There will be a big variety of photography styles, all highly professional, unique and artistic. The exhibition is not inexpensive, so it would mean the world to receive worldwide support, whether you are an artist, collector, fan of photography, foundation, magazine, company — everyone is needed and so highly appreciated for the effort supporting this meaningful and important matter. Let's stand up for women and art together!
